LandAid seeks charities with which to form an active partnership. Capital grant funding for building projects and/or for free professional property advice are available.

Grants of between £75,000 and £150,000 are available. LandAid would consider a building project phased over the next two or three years and requiring repeat funding.

Extended Description

LandAid is a charity established by the UK property industry.

Capital grant funding for building projects and/or free professional property advice is available to charities which work to improve the lives of children and/or young people across the UK who are disadvantaged for social and/or economic reasons.

Key Criteria

Registered charities working in the UK are eligible to apply.

Organisations must have been registered for at least two years at 1 November 2014.

LandAid is particularly looking for applications from charities based in or working with children and young people from the UK’s major cities.

Eligible Expenditure

Capital grants are available for improvements to existing premises or for new buildings, or a mix of both. The building project can be anywhere in the UK, and can involve refurbishment, conversion, extension, new build and work to outdoor spaces.

The spaces are to be used to provide support for children and/or young people up to 25 years old, who are experiencing social and/or economic disadvantages.

Match Funding Restrictions

LandAid are happy to accept applications where it will part fund projects with other funders as well as being the sole funder.

Restrictions

Funding is not available for the following:

  • Salaries, running costs and other general revenue costs.
  • Individuals.
  • Organisations whose primary purpose is a museum, gallery, library, exhibition centre or heritage attraction.
  • Individual churches, cathedrals (unless being used for purposes other than religious) and other historic buildings.
  • Individual schools, colleges, universities or other educational establishments.
  • Rent for a premises.
  • The purchase of property or buildings.
  • Work on premises where the lease is less than seven years.
  • Work that has already taken place (retrospective funding).
  • Work to provide office space for charity staff.
  • The purchase/lease of vehicles.
  • The purchase/lease of IT equipment.
  • Projects outside the UK.
  • Health, medicine and medical conditions, including drug and alcohol addiction.
  • Specific projects for people with disabilities.
  • Animal welfare or projects concerning the protection of single species.
  • Expeditions and research projects.
  • Individuals volunteering overseas.
  • Conferences, cultural festivals, exhibitions and events.
  • Endowments.
