Government announces £10million ‘Investment and Contract Readiness Fund.’
A £10million ‘Investment and Contract Readiness Fund’ is being made available to social enterprises and charities to help them develop the skills and infrastructure to win more capital investment and public service contracts.
The announcement was today made by Nick Hurd, Minister for Civil Society, and more details are provided in an open letter from the Minister, which is attached and follows publication of the Open Public Services White Paper earlier this month.
The Big Society Bank will shortly announce it’s first investment. It will continue over the coming years to use it’s £600m capital to stimulate and grow the social investment market providing a new source of finance to the civil society sector enabling organisations to grow and take on more public sector contracts.
